Linksys WRT54GS Router with SpeedBooster Technology

To complete my home-office setup i recently bought a Linksys WRT54GS Router with SpeedBooster. At first, I only thought of buying just a simple router to network my computers here at home but since I have a Centrino Duo notebook, i ended up on buying a router with an access point to take advantage of the mobile capability of my Presario.

Surprisingly, the first WRT54GS that i got from Mall of Asia was bricked. I setup the device, configured it based on the manual, and was able to make it work for only 5 minutes and when I restarted my workstation to complete my setup, something unexpected and undesirable happened. Dang! It was bricked. The power was blinking and all the leds are lit. Tried resetting it to factory setting by pressing the ‘reset button’ for more than 5 seconds (according to the manual), still no response. Since i was so eager to use the device, i consulted my friend ‘google’ for a solution. After, reading hours of articles and trying various methods of reviving the router, i finally gave up and decided to exchange the router to a new one the next day. Early the following day, i did and they changed it to a new unit with the same model. After setting the new one, I was able to use the router successfully and i am satisfied with its performance up until now. The speedbooster technology is a bang! Anywhere in my house, i get an excellent connection and internet speed. Although it is running on 54Mbps wireless connection, it almost has the same speed with my desktop workstation. Now, i can work anywhere in my house with no limitations. God, i just love wireless fidelity!
