Streaming MP3s to your PSP using Wifi

One of the best use for my PSP is its capability to play MP3. I have a v1.5 PSP which i bought in Sim Lim square here in Singapore. Yeah, its version 1.5. With Devhook, i was able to run my PSP to version 3.02 which is capable of internet browsing and RSS channel.

With only 2 gigabytes of external memory, i need to find a solution not to sacrifice my MP3s, mp4 movies, and of course the ISO games that i have. And i found this solution from this site. You can basically stream your MP3s from your computer using wifi. No need to transfer your MP3 files from your computer to your PSP. It is basically creating a streaming server in your local area network (i’m assuming you have wifi access point and a router).

And now my PSP rocks!

Haven’t you heard yet of Dark Alex’s Custom Firmwares? Everybody from 1.5 is switching into it because emulating a 3.02 firmware into devhook eats more resources. Try upgrading into 2.71 SE-C or 3.03 OE-C. Don’t worry because with the recovery mode option in custom firmwares, you won’t have to be afraid of bricking your PSP. And if you don’t like the custom firmwares(there’s no reason not to like it, love it) you can revert it back to 1.5.

I have successfully downgraded my PSP from a 2.80 to 1.50. After that I installed Dark Alex’s 3.03 OE C and I get the cool features of Sony’s 3.03 and at the same time I can play ripped ISO games from a UMD and also play 1.50 homebrews.

And regarding your post, you can use PimpStreamer instead. It’s much easier. You can also stream videos, not only music.
